Rising Oceans of Love
by Iris
The deepest, most enduring restoration of our desecrated Earth begins in consciousness.
It begins within.
It begins by gently ending the war inside ourselves.
That inner war often sounds like an oppressive internal dialogue. Women feeling unheard. Men feeling unheard. Men feeling threatened by openness and beauty. Women feeling threatened by openness and beauty. Fear becoming the loudest voice within.
What if we first became devoted students of our own inner landscape?
Listening deeply.
Healing deeply.
Releasing, little by little, the grip that fear and worry have upon our lives.
As fear softens, forgiveness becomes possible.
As forgiveness grows, hidden shame dissolves.
Something remarkable begins to emerge.
I see the return of the true feminine.
I see the true masculine once again revering her life-giving ways.
Mother Love.
Father Love.
Not opposing one another, but restoring one another.
And with that restoration comes a kind of healing our world has been longing for.
If you look closely, it is already happening.
The beauty we fear is lost has not disappeared.
It is waiting to be remembered.
These are extraordinary times.
There is no doubt of that.
But perhaps we were born for them.
Every person who commits to awakening to the sacredness of life quietly gives permission for others to do the same.
The belief that we must wake everyone else up often arises from the very part of ourselves that is still asleep.
I have felt crushing grief in my heart while witnessing forests cleared, species disappear and sacred places wounded.
I will undoubtedly feel that grief again.
Yet after years searching—from environmental front lines, to vast mines carved into the Earth, to ceremonies with wise Elders, to standing unexpectedly at the base of Mount Rushmore—I have come to trust one simple truth.
The deepest answer to humanity’s destruction of our Mother is the courageous work of love within ourselves.
From that place, peace becomes something we embody rather than demand.
Our creativity awakens.
Our compassion widens.
Our actions naturally become inclusive rather than divisive.
And our lives become an invitation to love the Earth,
to love one another, and to remember that healing begins long before it becomes visible.
