Earth as My Elder: Deep Listening in the Bunya Mountains

Walking in the Bunya Mountains, I am reminded that my responsibility as a human is to ask what Earth asks of me.

I remember now.

I am Nature.
Nature is me.

When I forget:

Slow down.
Arrive.
Be still.
Remember.

Deep Listening to Nature is not about going somewhere to escape life.

It is an invitation to become quiet enough to feel ourselves belonging to the living world again.

The ancient forests of the Bunya Mountains offer such a beautiful place for this.

Among the enormous trees, moss, roots, birds and mountain air, there is nowhere to go and nothing to become.

Just listen.

Your perfect place is, and always will be, bare foot. Skin-to-skin with the surface of the Earth.

At home.

On Earth.
